        Step 1. Warming-up
        1.Greeting
        T: Hello, boys and girls!
        2.Free talk.
        T: How old are you? How tall are you? Where do you live? What do you like to do?
        设计意图:友好的师生问候可以营造轻松愉悦的课堂氛围,利用旧知展开轻松的对话为新知识做铺垫。
        Step 2. Pre-reading
        1.Leading-in
        T: Today I bring you a new friend. She has big mouth, big teeth and is very tall. Do you want to know who she is? Guess!
        Ss: Is it a monster? Is it Shrek? Is it Hoopa?...
        T: Yes,but it’s not Shrek or Hoopa. Look!This is our new friend. Her name is Maddy!  Maddy has a good friend.Do you know who is she?
        设计意图:利用多媒体出示图片,设疑导入,告诉学生今天要迎接两个新朋友,更能激起学生的兴趣。
        Step 3. While-reading
        1.Task 1: listen and answer:
        T: Let’s listen to the story and try to answer:
        Who is  Maddy’s friend? What’s her name?
        Ss: She is Anna.
        设计意图:听录音,回答简单问题,整体感知故事。
        2.Task 2: Read Picture 1-4 and answer.
        T: Do you want to know more about Maddy and Anna ? What do you want to know?
        I want to know where does Maddy live? How about you?
        Ss: How old is Maddy? How old is Anna? How tall is Maddy? How tall is Anna?...
        T: Now open your book, read quickly, underline these answers and fill in these blanks.
        T: Finish? First, where do they live?
        Ss: Maddy lives in a very big house with her big family.
        Anna lives in a house on Park Road.
        T: How old are they?
        Ss: Maddy is 99 years old. Anna is 11 years old.
        T: Who is older?
        Ss:Maddy is older.
        T: Cool! Maddy is older than Anna. What does Anna say?
        Ss:Ninty-nine years old? You are so old.
        T: Good pronunciation. Who want to be Anna to say it again?
        (学生表演安娜,模仿语音语调)
        T: Good act!  How tall are they? 
        Ss: Maddy is 5 metres tall. Anna is 1.5metres tall.
        T: Who is taller?
        Ss:Maddy is taller.
        T: Maddy is taller than Anna. Look, I am taller tan you.
        设计意图:将故事分为两部分进行,此环节从学生们想了解Maddy的更多的信息入手,由学生提出问题,确定问题,解决问题。在此过程中,通过表演Anna,模仿Anna的语音语调的方式增加英语学习的趣味性。



        3.Task 3: Read Picture 5-6 and fill in the other blanks.
        T: Excellent! Look at this picture, what are they doing? I also want to know how do they go to school? And what to they like to do? Can you help me ? This time please follow the tape and then fill in the other blanks.
        T: Who can help me put them in the right place? Thanks. Can you talk about the answers?
        Ss: Maddy goes to school by bus. Anna goes to school by Maddy.
        Maddy likes to play basketball. Anna likes monsters.
        (跟读课文,提取信息,粘贴词条)
        T:What does Anna like to do?
        Ss: Anna likes to play with Maddy.
        Anna likes to play basketball too.
        Anna likes to ...
        设计意图:跟录音模仿标准的语音语调,并提取有效信息。对于故事中未出现的Anna 喜欢做的事给予猜测,鼓励学生大胆想象。
        Step 4. Post-reading
        1.Read and judge
        T:Now read the story in detail and judge.  
        A.Maddy’s address is 100 Monster Street.
        B.Mrs. Scott is Maddy’s teacher.
        C.At school, Maddy reads books and listens to the teacher.
        T: Finish?
        设计意图:再次从细节入手读故事,确定特定信息的对错,加深印象。
        2.Group work-act.
        T:Do you want to be Maddy to introduce yourself and Anna? Like: My name is Maddy. I am a monster. I live in ...This is my friend Anna. She lives in a house... She is ...
        Now practice in your group then show.
        Ss: My name is Maddy. I am a monster. I live in a ver big house with my family. I’m 99 years old. I’m 5 meters tall.
        This is my friend Anna. She lives in a house on park road. She is 11 years old. She is 1.5 meters tall.
        T: This is a gentle monster. Maybe this is a strong monster.
        设计意图:通过小组活动-表演,对故事的主人公进行综合介绍,把知识串联起来,活学活用。
        3.Consolidation.
        T: I think everyone has a good friend. Maddy has a good friend. How about you?
        Do you have a good friend in our class? Can you introduce? Discuss in your group and finish the paper.(根据课堂时间将其作为巩固拓展环节或者是作业。)
        My good friend is ____. She /he is ___ years old. She /he is ___ metres tall.
        She /he likes to ____.  _______
        T: Done? Can you share?
        Ss: ...
        T: You know him well. Friends are important for everyone. True friendship last forever. Let’s cherish our friendship.
        设计意图:充分利用小组活动,锻炼合作能力,让学生延伸思考描述自己的朋友,联系实际,内化文本,并将主题升华,让学生更珍惜友情。
        Step 4. Summary
        T: What did you learn today? Let’s say together.
        设计意图:通过板书,梳理故事脉络,总结本课重点。
        Step 5. Homework
        1.Read the story again.
        2.Try to introduce your best friends to your family.
        设计意图:遵循记忆规律,复习故事,并学以致用。
