高中英语“五环节教学法”高效课堂模式

        一、研究背景
        关于英语词汇学习,英语新课标中明确指出:教师在设计导学任务时应坚持以中小学生已有的生活经验和兴趣为出发点,要利于学生的英语学习,有利于发展学生的语言技能和实际利用语言的能力,使学生的思维能力、想象力和创造力等英语综合素养得以有效的发展。培养学生词汇学习能力是英语教学的重要目标,主要包括:运用英语词汇的主动性、灵活性、敏捷性、准确性和创造性。“五环节教学法”是濮阳市第一高级中学坚持改革创新、与时俱进、推陈出新而提出的新的教学模式,旨在提高课堂教学效率,不断增强学生应对新高考的能力。
二、教材分析
        本课程教学内容选自人教版《普通高中课程标准实验教科书英语必修五》的Reading部分First Aid for Burns文章,文章介绍了烧伤原因、类型、特点以及救治方案。因此,在教学过程中,将根据内容特点,通过“五环节教学法”让学生在阅读中提高理解能力,并学以致用。
三、学情分析
        本课程教学内容选自人教版《普通高中课程标准实验教科书英语必修五》的Reading部分First Aid for Burns文章,文章介绍了烧伤原因、类型、特点以及救治方案。因此,在教学过程中,将根据内容特点,通过“五环节教学法”让学生在阅读中提高理解能力,并学以致用。
Teaching aims:
1. Improve the students’ reading ability.
2. Enable the students to get some first aid knowledge.
  3. Competition and role-play method to arouse the students’ interest in first aid.
Teaching important and difficult points:
  1.Train the students’ ability of reading.
  2.How to help the students use what they have learned to do first aid treatment for                        burns correctly in daily life.
Teaching methods:
Task-based teaching method, mind mapping
Teaching Aids:
  1.multimedia
  2.the blackboard
Teaching Steps:
Ⅰ. Self-study
1. Show a picture and ask students what happened and how to deal with it before the doctor came.
2. Give the definition of first aid: First aid is a temporary form of help given to someone who suddenly falls ill or gets injured before a doctor can be found.
II. Cooperation work
Skim to get the main idea of the passage and each paragraph.


III. Presentation
Part 1
What are the functions of the skin? (The teacher shows the students how to find out the specific information by doing the first period: functions of the skin using a mind map and the students try to find out the rest ones.)


Part 2
What are causes of burns?


Part 3&Part 4
What are types and characteristics of burns?

Part 5   
1.The key information of the treatment.
2.Answer the following questions:
1).Why should you put cool water on a burn?
2).Why can’t we rub the burned area?
3).Why can’t you put ointment, oil or butter on burns?
4).A. If burns are on arms or legs, what should the victim do?
    B. If burns are on the face, what should the victim do?
IV. Explanation
  Retelling the passage according to mind maps drawn by yourselves. A sample is listed here:

V. Consolidation
(Try to deal with the following situations using what students have learned according to mind maps drawn by themselves.)
1). Sam knocked over a kettle full of boiling water onto his legs. His legs became red,  swollen and covered with blisters.
2). Mrs. Black’s sleeve caught fire while she was cooking. Her arm looked terrible but it didn’t hurt. The skin was charred.
VI. Homework
1. Search as much information as you can about first aid.
2. Find out the important and difficult words and expressions in the text.
四、课后反思
        总体来说,这是一节成功的词汇课,“五环节教学法”着重培养学生自主学习、合作学习、挽救学习和实践创新能力,教学以新课程理念为指导,以学生的终身发展和提升高考成绩为目标,深入新课标、新考纲和新教法,把握好教学方向,注重教学策略。“五环节教学法”可谓是将自主思考化为具体操作的方法,是一种新的课堂模式的探索。
